This painting was painted by Mami Yamamoto-Finke, who is a Japanese native living in the U.S. for the last 26 years. She has practiced Japanese calligraphy all her life and has started to paint with sumi ink several years ago. She adores down to earth motifs and folk arts so her paintings reflects those elements. This particular painting shows a simple presence of a female farmer who dresses in traditional indigo kasuri (ikat) clothes, which are harder and harder to see in contemporary Japanese landscapes. Original piece and could be matted for an additional fee. It will fit an approximately 9" by 13" window matting. Painted on a watercolor paper. Sumi ink and watercolor.
