In our last visit in Kyushu, Japan last year, we found this most delightful and charming backpack cushion which we had never seen before. The cushion pad is tightly woven by straws which is about 1.5" thick and it is covered by woven cotton threads, dyed in indigo. The pad has two shoulder belts that are beautifully made from woven straws covered by indigo-dyed cotton fabric, very time consumed process. Overall the rustic nature from the heavy use brings an indescribable beauty. This item is one of a true sense of Mingei-folk art of Japan and it is so special. Dimensions: 11"wide 16" tall (when stands) Please also visit our catalogue on Trocadero as well as www.ichoya.com. Thank you.
