Japanese Ofuke yaki-pottery was popularly produced during the Edo period (17-18th C) by using a variety of molds. Ofuke yaki can be regarded as a "Edo" version of the Mino-yaki ware (the south-eastern part of Gifu prefecture) and the style and the clay both possesses the trace of an attractive Japanese folk art nature. These two "twin" dishes are in a diamond shape and have a modest hue of green with fine crackles. Despite of its production by the use of a mold, each piece shows its unique and tasteful characters. Ca. Late 1800s. 6"w 5"d 1 1/4"h
