A small and simplest form of donation box, saisen-bako, showing original fukiurushi-style lacquer finish, made from cedar and fine marbled grain wood on the facade, assumed to be zelkova (keyaki) wood, a clean and traditional architectural roof line, a up-side-down heart shape like donation "slot" is from lotus flower motif, simply push to open the closure to drop money, sliding wood at the bottom for collecting donation money, very welled used and aged condition with beautiful patinas.
