Japanese Indigo Ai-Kasuri Young Girl's Hippari Jacket
This country style hippari jacket was probably worn by a young girl because of its small size. The hippari has two pair of ties to close the front and small "air pockets" under both arms. The pattern shows many colorful circles and the red color especially creates a lovely and cheerful impression. The end of arms are both elastic. The cotton lining inside is slightly worn due to the age and use. The kasuri is assumed to be from Iyo (currently Ehime prefecture). Ca. Early to mid 1900s Dimensions: 46" sleeve to sleeve Body width 23" Shoulder to the bottom hem 22"
