Listed here is a mid Showa period dated on "showa 23 nen" or 1949 Japanese bronze temple bell. This bell which features dragon handles, 48 thick nipples, varous kanji and various Buddhist related designs. This bell makes a nice resonant sound when and has no cracks. Condition: Very good, some slight scratches, rust spots on the handle where it hung from an iron hook and some roughness around the rim from the firing. Dimensions: 22" (53cm) x 12 1/2" (32cm). |
