Circa 1798-1818, an exceptional watercolor by J. W. Williams of Scarborough’s South Bay. In the background on the tall cliffs are the remaining ruins of ancient Scarborough Castle. A lighthouse unrecorded prior to 1806 is in the foreground. In excellent condition, any perceived imperfections are from camera reflections on the glass. A very detailed and vibrant watercolor landscape by John Henry Mole (1814-1886) watercolor “Edge of a Wood”. Mole was a landscape painter and water colorist. Best known as a painter of children in landscapes, it should really be the other way around, since his children are generally the weakest points of the composition. Attributed to Scottish artist James Paterson is this late 19th C sunny watercolor of a villa in Corsica. Paterson studied in Paris under Laurens and painted in Italy, Corsica, and Sicily. Provenance: Jeremy North’s Gallery, #2247. The watercolor measures sight size: 11.5” x 9.5” (frame 17” x 15”).

Stunning 19th C French oil painting of a beautiful young woman at her vanity. Painted and signed by listed artist Emil Papp, this painting dates late 1800’s. Late 1400's Italian wood bas relief carving of "God the Father" emerging from the clouds with his right hand raised in blessing and his left hand holding an orb. Traces remain on the surface area of polychrome paint and gold leaf. The piece is said to have come from the recent estate of John Secondary but not verified. A rare treasure, "God the Father" measures 14.5" high by 12" wide (frame is 22.25"x 17").

A 19th C oil on canvas by listed Dutch artist Albertus Verhoesen (1806-1881). An accomplished artist, Verhoesen specialized in landscape paintings with domestic livestock. This idyllic scene shows a bull, 3 resting cows, 2 goats and a playful kid in a field. Verhoesen's works can be seen on exhibit in major museums worldwide including the Louvre. This painting measures sight size 17.5" x 22", with frame 24" x 29". Signed and dated 1847 by the artist.

A large oil on board seascape (circa 1880-1890) by Harrington Fitzgerald (1847-1930). Rarely does one of Fitzgerald’s earlier paintings, reflecting the influence of his teacher, George W. Nicholson, comes to market (most of his paintings reflect the influence of his European teachers). Acquired directly from the Fitzgerald Estate, David Fulmer Keeley of Philadelphia authenticated this painting in Dec of 1950. COA is attached to the back of the painting...

Majestic oil on board landscape of Yosemite National Park is painted oil on board by Maxine Charles Guirard, 1869-1955. Guirard was a lifelong native of San Francisco. Known as a skilled painter of landscapes, figures and marine objects, he signed his works simply "Guirard". This painting is signed the lower right hand corner with the date 1933. In a period frame measuring 21.5" x 26.5", sight size is 15.5" x 19.5". Both the frame and painting are in excellent condition.
