A very large size Yuan to early Ming longquan celadon dish, center with impressed peony spray motif, the cavetto with vertical ribbing suggesting petal, rounded side with flattened rim and raised edge, base is glazed with ring for firing which is reoxidizes red during cooling, undecorated outside, covered with blue - green glaze. base has few small drilled owner's marks. Dish is in very good condition with 4 cm rim fretting restore. Size: 41.5 cm diameter. |
