The detacheable central Tirthankara surrounded by other Tirthankaras, two elephants holding his princely parasol, his throne supported by two lions. On the back there is a lengthy inscription, holding the date 1674 in Samvat, which is 1617 in the Western calendar. The shrine is inlaid all over with silver. H. 28 cm, W. 19 cm. Condition: some old damage and an old repair to the thinly cast back of the stand. Otherwise in wonderful original condition.

A rare and complete set of 12 high ranking officials carrying the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals. The group stands out because of the size of the figures (23,5 to 24,5 cm), the fine details and realistic animals, and the unusual colours of the glaze: an almost turquoise blue, dark purple and ochre. The faces and hats still with much of the original pigments left. Apart from age wear to the painting and glaze all figures are in good condition...
