Depicting a scene of silk workers or sellers in a pavillion. Cantonese work from the 19th century. Watercolour on paper, glued to cardboard. The flowers in the corners and around the painting were made separately and glued to the paper. Some of them are missing. On the back of the painting is a Dutch newspaper (Den Haag 1907) and there is a name and address of a later owner in San Francisco, written in pencil in 1923. Apart from some minor damage this painting is in good condition...

A very rare scholar's item. Made of pewter, inlaid with brass panels which are finely engraved with flowers, birds and animals. The handle has its original winding. There is a mark on the lid which says: ' made by Yang of Yung Hsing' and the name of the city: ' Ping Yee'. Apart from the normal age wear this teapot is in a wonderful condition. H. 24 cm. Qianlong (1736-1795). Provenance: collected in Beijing in the late 1990's and since then in my private collection.
