A very fine piece with a moulded design of peonies. This bowl was in a Japanese private collection since the 1930's or earlier. In this period the Tomobako was made. The bowl measures 18 cm. In diameter. It is not entirely round, but it came a bit oval out of the firing process. There are two hairlines in the rim of the bowl. Song Dynasty, ca. 12th/13th century.
