Tired of ordering uncleaned Roman coins on eBay and getting the same tiny, flat slugs with no appreciable details? Byzantine coins are the answer! As is evident in the picture, most coins in this group are larger than a quarter with a great degree of detail already visible. True, they cost more than Roman uncleaned coins, but wouldn't it be nice to actually get something worth keeping out of an uncleaned coin lot? These coins are especially good for children who have trouble working with smaller coins, and they are in good enough condition that cleaning them won't take much more than distilled water, soap, and a few old toothbrushes.
AGE: Variable; earliest are ca. 5th century A.D. with many extending well into Medieval times through the 12th century. CONDITION: As pictured...far better than most uncleaned coins. DIMENSIONS: Variable, with most quarter-sized or larger. Some smaller coins and scyphates/cup coins are nickel-sized. |
