Continuing with recently fired Harada Shuroku works, here are two traditional tokkuri forms, the first a tsurukubi-crane's neck that was used for sake as well as flowers at a Way of Tea Gathering. The firing here is beautiful yohen with rare shades of greens and purples and a fine covering of ash; a silvery-purple 'clay flavor' patch is seen on the front; in perfect condition with a signed box, 22.5cm.tall, signed on base. The triangular-dimpled tokkuri has more of a reserved character and a classic Ko-Bizen firing, very much reincarnated from the Momoyama period in a pure, deep sense. A small guinomi was fired over the lip and this accounts for the contrast of colors.. The lip opening is small and this tokkuri will make a fine tok...tok..tok-tokk sound when poured; some say that's where the name tokkuri came from. Also in perfect condition with a signed box 18.5cm.tall.
