I've heard it from more than one Japanese ceramic artist, "Harada makes the finest leaf plates in the land." There's such a naturalness to them it's as if they were found on some ancient forest floor. Here is one of Harada's famed leaf plates curled up at the edges and again with a fantastic firing; and for Bizen and other high-fired unglazed stoneware the firing is all-important and has a tremendous influence on desirability and price. A fine sculptural piece as is or of course for use at the table. In perfect condition, 13.5cm.tallx
