Serene, ripe, graceful and relaxed; this white porcelain--hakuji--jar was made by Kyoto ceramic artist Morioka KashoIII (b.1937). Morioka fires many styles of pottery, some purely Japanese such as Iga and Shigaraki, and other based on Chinese and Korean styles, such as this Choson period inspired hakuji jar. The bottom half has visible throwing lines while the upper half is smooth, a very pleasing contrast. The piece has a whitish blue aura to it and will look radiant with flowers, as shown in a catalog photo, the catalog will be included with the jar. It's in perfect condition with a signed box, 23cm.tallx25, stamped on base.
