Seihakuji Bowl by Fukami Sueharu
Fukami Sueharu, is there any Japanese ceramic artist as internationally celebrated today as he? Most likely not, arguably Fukami is the finest porcelain ceramic artist in the world today. Based in Kyoto, his works are in major museums here in Japan and the world, as well as prominent private collections. Not known to many is that when the spirit takes him Fukami also makes wonderful bowls, of course with his signature glaze and added embellishments of raised lines--brings out a white line---and cuts edges. This bowl we have waited for for three years. Not only is it divine to gaze upon, it also has a 'temple bell' ring when tapped. In perfect condition with a signed box, 10cm.tallx22, signed on base.
