With the feel of an ink landscape painting, this porcelain sometsuke--underglaze cobalt blue--plate was by by the first Japanese ceramic artist to be named a Living National Treasure for sometsuke in 1977, Kondo Yuzo(1902-1985). The Kondo Yuzo Museum is located in Kyoto and can be viewed here:

This plate is quite thick and shows the various shades of blue that Kondo was famed for, as well, of course, for his brushwork. In perfect condition with a signed box, 3cm.tallx21cm., signed inside the plate.
