Ito Hokuto(b.1961) is a porcelain ceramic artist whose vivid imagination and superb skills come to life on his porcelain works. Of all the graduates who studied under the late Living National Treasure Fujimoto Yoshimichi--and there are quite a few--Ito's works stand alone and are clearly different that all the others who imitate Yoshimoto. This Ito jar has many images and patterns encircling the jar all brilliantly painted within diamond borders; fish, owl, deer, ram, bird all appear as if emerging from a dream. In perfect condition with a signed box, 26.5cm.tallx26, signed on base.
