Here I have a wonderful Raggedy Ann and Andy by Georgene Novelties c.1938. Both dolls are 19in. tall and have printed facial features, four diamond-shaped lashes, thin brows, long nose outlined in black, red oval centered lips, black shoe-button eyes, red yarn hair, thick-striped red and white stockings, black shoes, and wearing their original clothes. Each have their Original Georgene Tags attached to the side of their bodies. Ann's tag is red and dated 1918. Andy's tag is blue and dated only 1920. As with any cloth play doll, they have issues. Ann's face is Excellent, the issue is her original clothing which is all there. The dress has what looks like an few age stains on top. You can see one in photo. The Original pantaloons have stretched out. The Original apron has age stain in back and needs cleaning. Her body has the typical light staining that these dolls get. It is similar to the stain Andy has on his body. They have no odors and come from a smoke free home. This adorable pair of early Raggedy Ann & Andy would be a nice addition to anyone's doll collection. Andy's face is very good, except he has a tear under one eye (does not distract from doll). As mentioned he has stain on body and little on side of face but blends in. His Original clothes are the real issue. Please see photo. Also has three small stains front and back. Also, a tear where the two buttons should be along side of his pants. At least he still has his Original hat. All in all for a child's comfort and loving play doll that is well over 75 years old, they are not in too bad a shape. If you are a collector of these wonderful cloth Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls, this pair would be a fantastic addition to your collection. Although, not the exact ones, you can see these dolls and this Raggedy Andy dressed in the same outfit on p.28 in the Book "Raggedy Ann & Andy Family Album" by Susan Ann Garrison.
