Schuco - Miniature Lipstick and Compact Mohair Monkey 1920's. The German toy manufacturer Schuco (Schreyer and Co.) are best known for their ingenious and high quality novelties, in particular miniature ones, which were the 'in' thing to be carried by wealthy ladies in their handbags during the 1920's and 1930's. This little guy has a hidden secret, if you remove his head, his chest opens wide to reveal a tiny face powder compact, with puff and mirror, at the top of the neck is a lipstick holder. Produced in soft lavender mohair over a metal inner, he is fully jointed with an inset tinplate face. His face is in very excellent condition. The mohair is 87% intact. His fir looks spacey due to the camera flash. All in all a fantastic and hard to fine enchanting miniature in excellent condition. He measures 3 1/2 inches. Has no odors and comes from a smoke free home.
