Here I have a very Rare German Bisque Asian Lady Portrait doll with unique sculpting, in the manor of the German firm Simon & Halbig. She is 12" tall and has a bisque socket head with amber-tinted complexion, brown glass eyes in deeply-set eye sockets, painted brown brows with sculpted detail, dark eyeliner, painted lower lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth. Her jet black mohair wig is in an elaborate upswept fashion with hair ornaments of faux pearls and green jade. She is on her Original 5 piece paper mache body with jointing at neck, shoulders and hips and painted shoes, both ankles re-glued (see photo)does not distract from look or rarity of doll. Her only marks on neck 3/0. She is wearing her Original and very Beautiful antique silk embroidered kimono which is in Excellent Condition and has no holes, rips, tears, stains or odors. Her bisque has no hairlines, cracks, chips and is damage free. She was made for the French market c. 1880s.
If you collect Rare, Asian, Character, Antique or just dolls, then this Rare and Extraordinary doll with her highly-characterized sculpting especially around the eyes, flawless amber complexion (due to flash bisque looks white, but she IS amber) and still wearing her Original Superb Antique Kimono. This doll would be a nice addition to any type of doll collection. She comes from a smoke free home.
