| This is a superbly crafted and detailed vintage Egyptian Revival silver link bracelet hand made in Egypt and fully hallmarked on the tongue of the clasp. See photos. The links are hollow and the silver work is extraordinary. It is comprised of a solid bottom layer of heavy gauge sheet silver forming the back of the bracelet and darkened black by oxidation creating a back drop for the amazing silver work comprising the upper portion. The top layer is raised and intricately cut out by hand with various images typical to Egypt. The images depicted are the Sphinx with the Pyramids, a large scarab with orb of the sun, the winged goddess Isis with Ankh, Thoth, the god of wisdom and knowledge and Nekhbet, the protector of Upper Egypt. In total there are five hand carved cur out images, one on each link. At each end of the bracelet is a raised relief, repousse lotus blossom link. The ends of the bracelet and the clasp are as beautiful as are the links themselves.The bracelet has a slide box clasp decorated with an ankh at one end and a cartouche with hieroglyphics at the other. Clasp is in excellent working condition. The bracelet is hallmarked with the Cairo assay office 800 silver mark on the clasp and the back of the bracelet. The bracelet is in excellent condition with a bit of patina from age. It shows little wear and it absolutely awesome. This is not a tourist bracelet as you have seen often depicted in many auctions on eBay. It is very fine and made with quality and precision. Highly collectible. The bracelet measures 8" from end to end by 1" wide. It weighs 28.6 grams. | |||||||||||||||
