A very large and rare unique lacquer panel screen with a variety of stone carvings of Quanyin and Her Disciples. The carved gold leaf panels most likely depict the life of the owner. The back of the panel has a beautiful painting of bamboo and birds. See Last photo. The panel is made into six parts that are interlocked together. Age. Mid. 19th Century. Size: 310 cm. X 215 cm. n extremely rare matching set of a drum table and five matching stools made of Jichi wood or "Chicken Wing Wood" with burlwood tops with a bamboo design. The table top is made from one piece of burlwood. Bamboo carved furniture from very expensive wood is very rare as bamboo is a very inexpensive wood and to carve that bamboo design in the expensive wood is a sign of reverse snobbery reserved for the very rich at that time...

A very rare Chinese veneer huanghuali cabinet with the original marble inserts. The back of the cabinet still has the original fiber coating that was used during the Ming and early Ching Dynasties. See last photo. This cabinet was most likely made during the transitional period from Ming to Ching. Age: Early 18th Century Size: H.189cm W. 126cm D. 63cm Condition: All original. The drawers are probably a replacement. Normal wear.

A very rare and beautifully carved blackwood table. The carvings represent good luck symbols with key fret designs,lingzhi fungus, floral, tendril, and coins. The front and the back are a mirror images of each other, and the two sides also have mirror image carvings on both ends. The legs are straight and not curved as seen in the wide angle photo. A very rare blackwood Hungmu rectangle table in it's original condition. This table has never been restored and is in fine condition for its age. Blackwood tables are quite rare. Age: Mid Qing Size: L.114cm, W.43cm, H.80cm. Condition: Some small old repairs

A set of four vary rare blackwood Hungmu lady's side chairs. The chairs match as a pair except for the back panels. Two have a square and two have a circle. This most likely had some meaning for the owner. Age: Mid Qing Size: H:94cm. W:48cm. Condition: No repairs. Some looseness from age.

Large Bronze statue of Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy). She wears an ornate necklace and has a ball-like "Nyoi Jewel" in her right hand representing enlightenment . There is an image of Buddha beneath the veil on her head. In her left hand she is holding her ambrosia bottle (kalasa)representing "The Water of Compassion. She is sitting on a lotus base and at the back of the base is the stylized inscription of Xuande,1426 to 1435 AD. Size: H. 49cm. W. At the base 31cm. Condition: Nice Patina...

A very large museum quality blue cobalt Martaban Jar. It is very, very rare to find this type of jar in cobalt blue, especially in this size and condition. Martaban jars were originally made in China used for storage of food for trading ships. They were eventually traded to the natives in Southeast Asia, mainly Borneo, and were highly prized. The center of the vase has a relief of a dragon chasing the evasive flaming pearl. Size: H. 92.8cm. W. 46cm...

A very rare pair of ironwood chairs also know as Tieli mu. Ironwood has been used with huanghuali items since the Ming Dynasty. In all the years that I have been collecting Chinese furniture, this is the only pair I have come across. Ironwood is usually been confused with jichimu. I find it just as desirable. Size: H. 112cm. Rare pair of Blackwood side chairs. These were usually reserved for the men. This is classical Northern Chinese design. Very simple but elegant. My favorite type of Chinese furniture. Size: H.104cm W.52cm. Age: Early 19th century Condition: Old repair on one leg. See last photo.

A very rare extremely large storage jar from the Chinese Song period, 960 -1126 AD. Unusual to find this size jar intact from that period. Size: H. 76 cm. W. 57 cm. Condition: No repairs or missing parts. Some wear from age.

This is one of the earliest and rarest original types of Martaban jars made in Vietnam. It has a rich chocolate brown glaze with beautiful drippings going down to the base. This style of jar has been copied in later times in China and Southeast Asia. Size: H. 64.8cm W. 40cm. Condition: Perfect. No repairs.
