In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, a Naga is a semidivine being, half human and half dragon serpent. Nagas can assume either wholly human or wholly serpentine form. They live in an underground kingdom filled with beautiful palaces that are adorned with gems. Size; 90cm X 70cm. Condition: two age cracks between the head and body. Overall in very good condition.

A very large and rare unique lacquer panel screen with a variety of stone carvings of Quanyin and Her Disciples. The carved gold leaf panels most likely depict the life of the owner. The rare Gold Buddha is know as Bhumisparsa, the mudra of witness (earth touching). The hand with the palm turned inward and all the fingers extended downward touching the singhasana (pedestal supported by a lion) The gesture of touching the earth or calling the earth to witness commemorating Buddha's victory over temptation by the demon Mara. A very rare Solid gold rare ear pick very finely made with an ornate chain made during the Pyu Dynasty that is now Burma. This is a very unusual gold item from that era.

A 2,000 year rare carved center agate bead with three distinctive colors surrounded by round agate beads with gold spacers of the same period. A very rare large gilded Royal Thayo receptacle created in Mandalay for Buddhist votive use. Thayo is made by mixing lacquer with sifted paddy husks to which pulverized bone is added for strength, resulting in a sort of plastic like material easily molded or stamped in a relief design. A rare large carved, nicely-striped translucent agate bead is featured in this beautiful necklace with 13 carved natural agate beads and 10 gold beads all from the same period. The smaller ochre-colored beads are ceramic beads of the same period. A Kushan gold necklace delicately strung with very small ancient lapis lazuli beads (approximately 24 beads to an inch). There are 12 gold coins with images of 6 ancient kings - six on each side. There are 2 kings that we recognize - one is Vasudeva I, the other is "Ohsho" holding an elephant goad, thunderbolts, a trident and a goat. The center bead is a oblong fluted gold bead. A rare Pyu carved calcedony tiger with its 4 paws, upper back, and tail in carnelian red (presence of iron oxides in the stone). The body of the tiger is elongated with a curled up tail. Tigers of this type and age are difficult to find, especially ones that are intact. The 24 karat heavy gold woven chain and gold bar (through the tiger) were recently added, making it wearable as a choker necklace..

A very unique and rare red agate oval Pyu seal. The white band on the surface of the stone has been skillfully carved down to the next red layer with a sacred bull. The red in the stone is more of a ruby red than an orangery red. When looking sideways at the stone at a certain angle, you can see the crystal clear band sandwiched in between two red bands which is natural to the stone.
