A fairly large gold repousse Buddha wearing a cape and standing on lotus pedestal. Repousse is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create a design in low relief. Size: H 11cm. W. 6cm. A nice stout wine jug with two handles at the wide shoulders. The two handles have deliberate cuts at the tops, probably to tie rope for securing the stopper. The brownish black glaze covers the jar to about 2.5 cm from the bottom.

Period: Song (12th/13th Century)

Size: Height = 19 cm. (7.5 inches)

Condition: A couple of tiny glaze chips at the mouth's rim. The glaze is not degraded and still has a nice gloss.
