A stunning necklace of rare and unusual carnelian beads. They include a very long 16-striped etched carnelian, an oval carnelian etched with a stag and a carnelian tiger tooth bead with a zig-zag pattern. These beads are flanked with smaller etched carnelians, etched agates and gold spacers (also of the period). Period: 1st - 5th Century, Burma/India Size: Length of cylinder carnelian = 8.2 cm (3-3/16 inches). Diameter of stag carnelian = 2.5 cm (1 inch). Length of carnelian tiger tooth = 2.5 cm (1 inch) Condition: Very good. Normal age wear. |
