Offered here is another fine example of quality Satsuma artistry by the famous HODODA. Again; the pictures cannot fully show the fine execution and detail of this wonderful Vase. This is one of the best pieces from the Hododa factory that I have seen and very possibly the master himself. This would be a wonderful addition to any Satsuma collection.The Vase is7.5" in height and 3.7" in diameter at its widest. There has been some very loss of Gilt. Although standing only 1.75" in height, the facial expression is to5tally lifelike. This fine little piece has been in my personal collection for over 20 years. This is a Gem for any collection. Offered here is a very old Ivory Carving of a Noble. I believe the origin of the piece is most likely Chinese. The detail cannot be fully appreciated until you hold it in your hand. The Figure measures4.0" x a.38" x 1.12". There a few "age" cracks but non threaten the stability of the piece. The Patina in due tro the age of the piece and has not been added.

Offered for sale is a large and unusual Mortuary Grain Storage Jar. The Glaze appears to have been a "Proto-porcelain" glaze but most of the glaze has been lost after many hundreds of years. The pattern of the glaze is still visible and one small area on the body and lid has retained part of the original finish. The Jar has not been damaged or repaired.
