Stunning wheel-carved vase by Muller Freres of Luneville, French, c1890. Vase is mouth-blown of 3 layers of glass and intricately wheel-cut with an astonishing design of Calla lilies. Unlike every other piece of wheel-carved Muller I have ever seen, there is absolutely no acid-cutting whatsoever on this vase,, it is 100% wheel-carved by hand. An incredible amount of work went into this piece.
Measures approx. 10.5" high and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Signed to lower-body with engraved 'Muller Croismare' signature. As a dealer, I use the phrase 'Museum Quality' very rarely,, but this vase deserves it. |
