This set of 12 bird plates was produced in England by the Cauldon factory in the 1890s. The plates measure 8 3/4 inches in diameter. They are made of fine, white bone china. The edges of the plates are fluted and the porcelain has a molded swirl design that is accented with gilding. The centers of the plates are expertly hand painted by the renowned artist, James Birbeck, who specialized in painting game birds. They are painted in fine detail and vivid color and are named on the back of each plate. The manner in which Birbeck painted the landscapes and sky shows his fine artistic abilities. The birds are shown in their individual natural enviorment. Every plate has some wonderful story to tell. Condition: 11 of the plates are virtually unused and in excellent condition. 1 plate has minor use wear to the center. The gilding on all of the plates is intact. There is no crazing in the glaze on any of the plates.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany at the Carl Thieme Dresden Studio in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent porcelain. The cup features 3 lion’s paw feet. The set is beautifully hand painted with vibrant colors. The couples dressed in 18th century costumes enjoy the garden landscapes in various activities. There are lovely sprays of realistic flowers between the scenes. Delicate filigree gilding trims the rims of both pieces. The handle and feet are accented with gold. Condition: There is a slight touch of wear to the gilding on the rim of the cup that is hardly noticeable. It is otherwise in excellent condition.

This porcelain 3 piece coffee cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in England in the mid 19th century.  It is unmarked with only hand painted pattern numbers on the underside of each piece.  The plate has a diameter of 7 inches, the saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high.  The cup has a comfortable ring handle.  The set has a cobalt blue ground color.  There are gilded medallions containing hand painted pink roses.  Elaborate, hand painted decoration contrasts beautifully against the deep cobalt.  Bands of embossed gold encircle each piece.  The Victorian style and fine bone china is evidence of an excellent manufacturer such as Brownfields or Bodley.  This set will enhance the enjoyment of your favorite coffee. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Brownfields in 1881. The name of the company is impressed in the porcelain and there is a registry mark giving the precise date the cup and saucer was produced. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is quatrefoil in shape. There are alternating panels of hand painted fruits and textured burgundy red. The fruits are painted in raised silver and gold enamels. There are gilded accents and trim on both pieces. The style is distinctively aesthetic. Condition: There is a trace of wear to the gilding around the well of the saucer. There is one tiny white spot on a raised dot on the saucer. Overall, the set is in very good condition.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set has a wonderful scarlet red ground color. It is decorated with embossed gold medallions and gilded swags. The rims have wide embossed gold borders. It is an elegant set that was produced especially for the retailer Davis & Collimore of New York. Condition: The saucer has light crazing in the glaze on the underside. There are no other imperfections. Note: The spots in some of the photos are not imperfections in the cup and saucer but result from the photography.

This porcelain tea pot with stand was produced in England around 1790 to 1810. We had seen a similar pot identified as Chamberlain Worcester. There are no marks or numbers to identify it. The pot measures 10 inches from the handle to the spout and approximately 6 inches high, including the lid. The porcelain has a grayish hue. The pot has molded ribs with a C shaped scrolled handle. The borders of the pot and stand are cobalt blue. They are finely gilded with what appears to be acorns and leaves. There are tiny gilded sprigs scattered around each piece. It is a very handsome piece. Condition: There is minor rubbing and wear to the gilding on the pot and edges of the stand. There are no chips or cracks. It is very nearly excellent considering its age.

These porcelain plates were produced in England in the first half of the 19th century. We attribute them to Coalport. They are 9 3/8 inches in diameter. The decoration is copied from French Sevres factory. There are two types of hummingbirds that are beautifully hand painted. The representation is true to the species of hummingbird. Each plate has a wide, celeste blue enameled border. There is ornate raised gold trim with enamel jeweled accents. These are splendid cabinet plates to treasure for generations. They may be purchased separately. Just choose A or B. A is the plate on the left and B is on the right of the first photo. Condition: There is slight wear to gilding on the rims and high points on the plates. It is not visible looking straight at the plates.

The rims and distinctive handle are trimmed with gold. This is truly a Victorian delight. Condition: The saucer has clean, light crazing. It is not distracting.
