This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Capodimonte in the late 19th century. The saucer is 5 1/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The porcelain is molded in high relief. It is hand painted to depict scenic landscapes with classical figures frolicking in the woods. There is gilding inside the cup and as background for the scenery on the cup and saucer. On the interior rim of the cup, there are spots where the factory failed to completely fill in the gold. It looks like it is worn but it was made that way at the factory. There are a couple of small spots of wear on the saucer where the cup slid across it. These are minor imperfections considering the age and quality of this decorative cup and saucer.
