This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch Dresden Studio in the 1880s. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 5/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The porcelain is highly translucent. The cup features a delicate butterfly handle and pedestal base. Both pieces are beautifully hand painted with swags of tiny, delicate flowers. There are fine gilded accents and lacy gold trim. The butterfly is accented with gold. This is a rare example of a cup and saucer with a figural handle. It is so desirable. Condition: Excellent, little glaze blemish very slight, mentioned for accuracy.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The cup is melon ribbed and blown out. The saucer has a scalloped rim. The ground color is rich cobalt blue. It is decorated with elaborate raised gold decorations. Gilded swags and raised gold beads accent the design. The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are richly gilded. This is truly an product of the “Gilded Age”. Condition: Excellent, with just a trace of wear to gilding, hardly noticeable. Both pieces “ring” when tapped.

This porcelain service was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer in 1918. They are marked with the red orb, blue scepter and iron cross markings. The pattern is known as Neuzierat. There are a total of 43 pieces. The set consists of an oval serving tray, coffee pot with lid, tea pot with lid, sugar bowl with lid, cream pitcher, and 12 sets of cups, saucers and dessert plates. All pieces are hand painted with sprays of vibrantly colored garden variety flowers. There is elaborate raised gilding and additional gilding inside the rims of the cups. This pattern is no longer produced by KPM. It is difficult to find an entire matching service. This is a remarkable offering of superb quality. Condition: The service is first quality. The cream pitcher has minor chips on the spout. There are no other defects, no evidence of use, or restoration.

This porcelain vase was produced in Germany by the KPM Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer in 1901 according to the date letter impressed on the foot. It is marked with the under glaze blue scepter and red orb. The vase is 6 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches at the widest point. The ground color is dark, nearly black, with mottled patches of teal blue or turquoise breaking through. A gilded mesh net overlays raised enamel blossoms. The foliage is painted with raised gold. The edge of the net has ruby translucent enamel drops hanging down. The mouth of the vase has a flower petal shape with an enameled lady bug on each petal. The design is influenced by the Asian culture with refined detail and craftsmanship you would expect from KPM. Condition: Excellent, first quality, without defects of any kind.

The location of this scene is written on the bottom of the cup “Ruine Trinberg bie Kissingen” translated Trinberg ruins near Kissingen. The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The cup has a hand painted scene of castle ruins spanning a hillside. There are mountain and treed landscape in the surrounding vista. Two figures are in the foreground, viewing the scene. It is painted in fine detail, almost photographic in quality. The interior of the cup is gilded to the bottom. The saucer is richly gilded and has a gold medallion in the well. The foot of the cup and handle are gilded. This is a historical record of the past that has been well preserved. Condition: Excellent.

There are two figures in the foreground with a dog and a person hanging out of a window. The shingles on the roof, the wood panels, and people on the porch are painted in amazing miniature detail. The surrounding mountains and trees are exquisitely portrayed. It appears to be a very inviting place, perhaps no longer in existence, except for this cup. Condition: Slight wear to gilding inside rim of cup and gold around well of saucer.

The style of the cup is from the early Biedermeire Period, 1815 -1848. The saucer measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall (without the handle) and has a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The front of the cup has a very intricate scene of a city Bautzen. There was great variety in the forms of architecture making it an interesting subject matter. It is hand painted in fine detail. There are two figures in the foreground. It is a marvelous representation of that city from a 200 year old perspective. Condition: Slight wear to gilding on saucer.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1800. The cup has a scene of a tourist attraction, Bastey or Bastie, southeast of Dresden. The saucer is 5 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall (without the handle) and has a diameter of 3 inches. The scene is hand painted in minute detail. There are people standing at the edge of a cliff, over looking the Elbe River with the sandstone rock formations in the background. It is a beautiful remembrance of places and times past. Condition: Cup has restoration, slightly yellowed inside.

There is an elaborate gilded cartouche on the front of the cup containing a Watteau scene. An 18th century couple is sitting in a wooded landscape. They are beautifully hand painted in bright colors. The sides of the cup and body of the saucer have ornate hand gilding. The interior rim of the cup and well of the saucer have delicate gilding. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. This is the highest quality no other company can duplicate.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Mintons in 1893. There is an impressed date cipher indicating this year. The plate is signed by the renowned artist Antonin Boullimier. It is #7 in a series of 12 plates. It measures 9 1/4 inches. The delicate bone china has an unusual reticulated border. The center the plate has a hand painted scene of a GrecoRoman young woman with a goldfish bowl. She is pouring water into the bowl for the fish. The painting is of the highest quality porcelain painters ever produced. It is beautifully colored and well balanced. The border of the plate has celeste blue enamel that was often used by Sevres in France. Boullimier was the son of a Sevres artist, inherited his talent, becoming one of the most celebrated artists Mintons ever had. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain chamber stick or candle holder was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the 1890s. It has both impressed shield and printed marking. It measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter and is 2 inches tall. The decoration is elaborate tapestry of flowers, ribbons and gold. The hand painting is precise and extremely fine. The colors are vivid and the gilding is bright. It is a lovely reminder of the past.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris decorator in the 1870s or earlier. It has a hand painted monogram “AJ” hand painted in gold. The saucer is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. The porcelain it thin and translucent. The cup has a hand painted scene that surrounds the entire surface. An 18th century couple, of noble birth, are holding hands and reading a letter. The painting is soft and dream-like. The surroundings are a wooded landscape opening up to a stream. The saucer has paintings of objects and ornaments, symbolic in nature. One side, a quiver of arrows possibly cupid’s, a nest of eggs, a dove and flowers represent the blossoming love. The other side has an instrument, lute or mandolin, pages of love letters, a harp and tambourine. These objects were used in the pursuit of the loved one. There is delicate gold trim on the rims and handle. This is art, produced by a highly skilled and talented artist. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons between 1873 and 1885. This Asian inspired design was a creation of Christopher Dresser. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches. The cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/3 inches. It is made of fine, white bone china. The factory transfer design is hand colored with bright enamels. Cranes are seen flying, wading, walking and swooping in the bamboo and reeds. Inside the bottom of the cup is a crane in flight. Suggestion of turquoise waters encircle the well of the saucer and bottom of the cup. The split handle and rims are trimmed with rust red enamel. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in France by Jean Pouyat Limoges in the 1890s. The porcelain was produced and decorated at the factory. The saucer is 4 7/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The ground color is powder blue. Art Nouveau style dandelions are hand painted and hand gilded on each piece. It is richly gilded on the rims and handle. Having been acquainted with Haviland Feu de Four pieces, it is likely that this particular cup and saucer was created with that process after examining the decoration carefully. It does not say that specifically, doing so might have broken patent regulations with Haviland. However, there is gilded writing in French, “Paint et Dore` a la Main,” hand painted and hand gilded. There are two other markings plus painted letters and numbers. This is an above average item produced by Pouyat of rare beauty. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

The cup is 3 1/4 inches tall without the handle. The cup features an empire style handle that sweeps up over the rim. The ground color is magenta red. There is a large reserve on the front of the cup containing a hand painted scene. An elegant 18th century couple are strolling in a garden landscape. The painting is detailed and colorful. A cartouche of elaborate gilding frames the scene. Borders of raised and beaded gilding accent both pieces. The handle and rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Slight wear to gilding in well of saucer where cup sits. There are no other issues.

This perfume flask was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It is unmarked but undoubtably Coalport. The flask has a hinged metal mount. It is 4 3/4 inches long, 2 1/8 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The body of the flask is divided into panels of raised turquoise beads or jewels and panels of ornate raised gilding. Condition: The metal mount is tarnished. There is a bit of wear to gilding. It is in original condition and excellent for its age.

This porcelain perfume bottle was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the London retailer Sloane & Smith of Oxford Street. The bottle is 3 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The collar and top of the lid are enameled with raised enamel rubies and ornate gilding. The body of the bottle and lid have a gilded ground covered with raised turquoise beads or jewels. The beads are tiny at the top and increase in size towards the middle of the bottle, then diminish at the bottom. It is an artistic marvel. The bottle shimmers in the light. Condition: Light crazing on collar and bottom. One bead misisng.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords under glaze. The plate is 8 inches in diameter and 1 3/8 inches deep. The plate has a delicate reticulated border. the center of the plate has a intricate pattern of pink blossoms known as “pink onion or Indian pink”. The stylized flowers are accented with gold. There are reserves inside the border with more of the pink flowers. All of the openwork around the border is richly gilded. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.
