This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Caopdimonte between 1740 and 1745. It bears a rare “Fleur de Lis” mark under glaze. The saucer is 5 1/4 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 3/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches. The porcelain is highly translucent with egg shell quality. It has a parchment hue and has imperfections in the glaze. The cup shape and handle are very similar to Meissen cups of that time. The decoration of butterflies and insects is quite sophisticated. They are hand painted with fine artistic craft. The coloring is subtle. A Meissen cup and saucer from this exact period of time is almost a mirror image of this Capodimonte set, right down to the style of gilding. I was in the “Hans Syz Collection of Meissen”. Apparently, Capodimonte borrowed the design and this is the product of their early effort. Condition: The cup has a rim chip that is mostly on the inside. The foot ring has a chip and roughness. The gold trim is worn. The saucer has a series of chips and nicks on the edge. The gold trim is worn. The interior of the saucer where the cup sits shows wear. It is difficult to quantify the precise condition of this item because of its rarity. It displays well and could benefit from restoration. It is an extraordinary set of historical significance.

This porcelain plate was produced in Hungary by Herend between 1855 and 1875. The marking is hand painted in gold. It measures 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The decoration on the porcelain is molded in high relief and the border is slightly scalloped. The design is inspired by the famous Meissen swan service. A pair of swans are accompanied by herons in the reeds and in flight. They are hand painted in vibrant colors. Stylized flowers, in traditional Hungarian design, decorate the border. The rim is accented with gold. Condition: There is some wear to gilding at the top of the plate. High spots in the design show slight wear. Over all, it is in very good condition and displays well.

The fluted porcelain blanks were made in Bohemia by Ohme. The porcelain is highly translucent, delicate and scalloped on the edges. Bright panels of yellow alternate with panels of tiny colorful flowers. Lacy gold borders trim the rimes and handle. You will enjoy displaying or having a cup of tea from this delightful, dainty set. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This pair of porcelain vases was produced in France by Paul Blot, Maison Jacquel, at rue del la Pais, Paris. Both have hand painted signatures. They are 7 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches at the widest point. The porcelain is fine and translucent. The ground color is creamy beige. The vases are exquisitely hand painted. The front and back of each vase has bouquets of vibrant pink roses. Blossoms are budding and in full bloom. They are accented with blue feather-like plumes and vines. To the sides, there are wreathes of purple violets accompanied by lavender ribbons. Wide bands of gold have fine point line designs in black on the neck and foot of each vase. This splendid pair of vases is a rare find that will add an eye-catching splash of color to any interior. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This figurine was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg c. 1910. It has the impressed shield, printed mark and artist’s initials W N for Entwurf Wilhelm Newhauser. They are pictured in the book “Die Tierplastik her Nyympherburger Porzellan" by Gerhard P. Woeckel. The group measures 12 inches high, 8 3/4 inches deep and 7 inches wide. The birds are well modeled with just a hint of color for their faces and to give definition to feathers. It is true to form, made in the Art Nouveau era. Their pose is what is so delightful. It is bird “body language” that is so irresistible. What are they saying? You can just imagine. Condition: First quality with a firing separation at the bird’s shoulders.

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in 1913. It has the first quality impressed shield colored blue and printed mark on the bottom. Niki is incised on the front of the base. This piece is pictured on the cover of “Nymphenburger Moderne” by Alfred Ziffer. It measures 12 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches long and 7 inches deep. Niki is well modeled by his master Willy Zugel. Hand painted details are under glaze. Zugel captured the character of NiKi in a delightful way, one ear in the air and one flopping down. He has an inquisitive look on his face, but his body is tense and he is ready to go. His collar has a little blue ribbon. You can’t make a fox terrier sit for very long. CONDITION: There is a small 1/8”, shallow flake at the bottom edge of the base in the back that is barely visible. A corner of the folded ear has some frit and an extra bit of porcelain making it rough. This occurred in the firing process. More photos upon request.

This Avante garde porcelain platter is attributed to Martin Fritzsche. It is similar to works in the Broham Museum in Berlin. The platter is 17” long, 13 3/4” wide 2 3/4 inches high. It has a Seger mark under glaze, the model number 5894 incised in the porcelain and worn, unintelligible painted letters. The design is 3 dimensional with unique crystalline glazes in shades of moss green brown & turquoise. A sea maiden rising from the waters wears an ornate headdress with braids, beads and modeled blossoms in Art Nouveau fashion. Most examples of this work are one of a kind and are exhibited in museums in Germany. Condition: Minor roughness to some petals on raised blossoms. Small firing separation on back rim with some filler. More photos available upon request.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in France by Jean Pouyat Limoges around 1900. It was sold “white ware” to a studio artist for decoration. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches. The set is made of fine, translucent porcelain. The cup features an ornate handle. The hand painting is beautifully executed. The roses and foliage fill the space on both pieces, with shading and balance. The borders are accented with magenta red and rococo scrolls of pink and gold. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Bodley between 1870 and 1882. The saucer measures 5 1/4 inches long and 4 3/4 inches wide. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup has a puffy, blown-out shape with molded panels. The saucer is heart shaped and also has molded scrolls in the porcelain. The main color is greenish turquoise. Brightly colored, hand painted flowers fill the panels around the cup and surround the interior of the saucer. The borders and scroll work is trimmed with gold. The rims and handle are accented with gold. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The fine, white porcelain is slightly molded with ribs and the handle is an ornate split branch shape. It is decorated with elegant raised and beaded gilding in Art Nouveau style. Bands of embossed gold trim the rims. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It was produced especially for the prestigious retailer, Gilman and Collamore of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 3 3/4 inches. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. The fine, white bone china is covered entirely be gold. There are panels of intricate, embossed patterns alternating with panels of raised turquoise enamel beads or jewels. The beads graduate in size and are separated by tiny raised gold beads. The gold shimmers in light. This is an exceptional example of Coalport’s workmanship and will be a star in any collection. Condition: 3 tiny beads missing on saucer near well. It is in otherwise excellent condition.

This porcelain tea cup was made in Germany by a Up-scale Dresden decorator in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 5/8 inches. The cup is wide at the top and tapers towards the middle. The ground color is iridescent green. There is a reserve on the front of the cup with a Watteau scene of lovers in a garden setting. The painting is extremely fine and very colorful. It is surrounded by a ring of raised gold beads or jewels. The rest of the cup has fine gold trellis work, swags of gold flowers and ribbons, all in raised gold. The decoration on the saucer is identical. The fine quality of workmanship and style is indicative of Donath Dresden. The use of the gilded flower covering the maker’s mark of the porcelain is also typical of their work. Condition: Excellent with slight gold wear.

The front of the cup has an 18th century couple dancing. They are beautifully hand painted with fine detail. The sides of the cup and interior of the saucer are accented with raised gilding. The blue borders have beaded and raised gold designs. The gilded interior of the cup has a raised gold medallion at the bottom. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. This is an exceptional and rare demitasse cup and saucer. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 7/8 inches. The cup features a split branch handle and rococo pedestal base. The ground color is sky blue. The exterior of the cup has a hand painted panoramic scene. Children are playing in the woods. They are painted in fine detail and bright coloring in a wooded landscape. The saucer has elaborate, raised gilding. The gilding is matching on the cup. This is an early Lamm Dresden cup and saucer in the style of Royal Vienna and Meissen, that is very rare. Condition: Excellent. For accuracy, the cup has 3 minute pits in the glaze inside, The foot of the saucer is rough from the factory. It was made that way.

The set has bands of deep, ruby red. Gilded medallions contain bunches of forget-me nots. Lacy gilding overlays the ruby red ground. The rims, handle and interior of the cup are heavily gilded. It has a brilliant, classic style. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.
