The set consists of a coffee pot with lid, open sugar bowl, cream pitcher, and 6 cups and saucers. The pot measures 7 1/4 inches high and is 8 1/4 inches from the spout to the handle. A saucer measures 5 inches in diameter and a cup stands 2 1/4 inches high. The set is made of fine white bone china. The decoration is classic in style. Bands of brilliant orange have raised gold detailing. Grecian urns punctuate the borders of the Greek key design. There is rich gold trim on the handles and rims. This porcelain cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in Germany by the Wilhelm Koch decorating studio around 1920. The set was a special order requested by the customer. The plate has a diameter of 7 1/4”, the saucer is 5 3/4” in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4” high. The cup has a unique shape with 10 panels. The ground color is royal blue in a matte finish. The decorations are hand painted with shiny enamel paint to contrast against the ground color. Couples dressed in 19th century garb are strolling around the porcelain. The set is richly gilded with shiny gold and raised gold beading. This is an extraordinary work of art that was a special order. Condition: Excellent. Please excuse the glare in some photos.

These 8 porcelain tea cups and saucers were produced in Hungary by Herend between 1950 and 1970. The saucers are 5 3/4 inches in diameter and the cups are 2 inches high. They are decorated with the pattern known as “Rothschild Birds”. The porcelain is molded with a raised basket weave border. Colorful birds sit in a tree with a necklace hanging from the branches. Butterflies and insects are scattered about the surface of both pieces. The handle and rims are trimmed with gold. Herend’s creations are tasteful and timeless. NOTE: Although only one cup and saucer is pictured, this auction is for 8 cups and saucers in the Rothschild Birds pattern, and all 8 are in excellent condition.

The pattern is known as “Dresden Flowers.” This is a service with a tea pot, coffee pot, sugar bowl with lid, cream pitcher, 12 dessert plates, 12 coffee cups and saucers, and 12 tea cups and saucers. That is a total of 67 pieces. All of the cups are very ample in size for a generous cup of tea or coffee. The dessert plates measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The pattern is colorful and bright. The saucers and dessert plates have reticulated borders. All pieces have gilded accents and gold trim. It isn’t often you find a set as complete as this. You would be ready for spring and summer entertaining. Condition: Excellent. The set appears to have never been used.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Rosenthal between 1923 and 1925. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches and the cup is 1 1/2 inches high. The art deco style is evident in the shape of the handle and the body of the cup. The hand painted decoration in teal green and gold is stylized and geometric. The interior of the cup and handle are gilded. You may see cups and saucers that are identified as being “Art Deco” but this one is original in style and of that period. It is quite unique and pretty neat. Condition: Excellent
