This pair of porcelain dessert stands was produced in France by Le Rosey before 1870. Le Rosey was an excellent porcelain decorator who had won many awards at exhibitions in Paris during the nineteenth century. Their painted decorations and porcelain forms were very similar to some used at the Sevres factory. These dessert stands have a diameter of 9 inches and a height of 5 inches. They are made of fine white porcelain of substantial weight. The rim of the stand and the foot are slightly scalloped. They are hand painted with the most delicate sprays of pastel colored flowers. There are rich, heavy gilded accents around the edge of the stands and the rims are trimmed with heavy gilding. These stands would add of touch of elegance to any table or décor. How fortunate it is to have this pair to offer in virtually the condition as the day they were made.

This 3 piece porcelain dresser set was produced in the U.S. by a Belleek manufacturer around 1900. There is no manufacturer’s mark because it was sold "white wear" to an amateur painter for decoration. The color of the porcelain is similar to Willets, Lenox, or Ceramic Arts Company which produced American Belleek porcelains in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The brush is 9 inches long, the mirror has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches and the comb is 8 3/4 inches long. This was a truly amazing find to acquire three matching pieces of wonderful American porcelain in such excellent condition. The silver on the hand mirror is quite good. The comb teeth are made of celluloid and that survived so well. All of the bristles in the brush are intact. The porcelain is molded with high relief rococo swirls which are accented with hand applied gilding. The mirror and the brush have the most appealing little hand painted cherubs on them. This set had been protected and cherished for decades evidenced by the fine condition it is in.
