This porcelain sucrier or sugar bowl with lid was produced in England between 1790 and 1810. It may have been made by Chamberlain Worcester as it matches the tea pot and stand we are also selling. It is 5 1/4 inches long and 5 1/4 inches high, including the lid. The porcelain has a grayish hue. It has molded ribs in the porcelain and ring handles to the sides. The edges of the lid and bottom have cobalt blue borders that are elaborately gilded. There are tiny acorns and leaves as well as some floral designs. Tiny gilded sprigs dot the body. It is a splendid piece.
Condition: There is a tiny nick on the edge of the lid that is gilded over. We do not know if it was done at the factory. It has very little wear to the gilding. It is almost excellent considering its age.
