This set of 8 porcelain bouillon cups and saucers was produced in Germany by Wolfsohn Dresden in the late 19th century. The porcelain blanks were made by the Ohme Factory in Silesia, Germany and sold white ware to the Wolfsohn factory for decoration. The porcelain blanks are extremely delicate and translucent. They have a swirl pattern molded into them with the saucers being scalloped on the rims. The cups have two handles. The decoration is all hand painted. There are tendrils of flowers alternating with yellow panels. All of the panels are outlined with gold and there are lacy gilded borders in a number of places including inside the rim of the cup. A gilded medallion is in the center of each saucer. These bouillon cups and saucers are a delightful confection for display or use.

This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany at the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the late 19th century. It has a diameter of
7 3/4 inches and is 2 inches deep. A 2 inch border is reticulated and accented with gilding and yellow trim. The center of the bowl is finely hand painted with cherubs reminiscent of Meissen figurines. They are little winged explorers with a globe and telescope. There is lacy gold trim framing this scene. The outer portion of the bowl is also trimmed with gold and yellow accents.

This porcelain covered tea caddy was produced in Germany by Lorenz Hutschenreuther in 1920. The mark contains the name of the art director, Professor Fritz Klee. It is 5 1/4 inches high, 4 inches in length, and 3 inches in width. The fine, white porcelain has clean lines. It is hand decorated with strikingly bold designs. There appears to be a genie face on the lid. Ornate scrolls decorate the body of the piece. Rich, heavy gold borders trim the rims and shoulder of the piece. There is a slight loss of gilding directly under the lid where it rubs against the bottom. This does not show with the lid in place. It is in otherwise excellent condition.

This porcelain butterfly was produced in Thuringia, Germany by the Schwarza-Saalbahn factory around 1900. Similar porcelain objects have been produced by Karl Ens of Volkstedt. The butterfly is 6 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. It is made of hard paste porcelain and is decorated with brightly colored high glazed enamels. There is raised enamel beading and gilded accents. It is an unusual object of beauty.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany in the late 19th century. It has a maker’s mark under the glaze we do not recognize. The plate is 8 1/2 inches in diameter. It has a beautiful reticulated border that is quite elaborate. The center of the plate is painted with a garden scene with lovers under a tree. The painting is expertly done. There is lacy gold trim around the inside of the plate. The reticulated border is painted with vivid flowers and outlined in gold.
Condition: There is slight wear to the gilding on the rim.

This porcelain serving dish was produced in Germany by KPM in the late 19th century. It measures 12 inches long, 9 1/4 inches wide and is 1 3/4 inches deep. The porcelain is reticulated around the edge forming branches that emerge in the center of the dish as the handle. Oak leaves and acorns are molded in high relief and hand gilded. There are lovely bouquets of flowers realistically hand painted in the center of each well. It is amazing that there is virtually no evidence of use or wear on this dish. It is in excellent condition.

This platter was produced in Germany by the Meissen factory in the 1940’s. It measures 17 ½ inches long, 13 ½ inches wide and is 2 inches deep. The fine porcelain has intricate embossed decoration around the border and around the well in the platter. There is a Kakiemon style hand painted decoration of brightly colored flowers and a butterfly. The rim is trimmed with heavy gilding. The combination of the embossed decoration and the minimal painted design creates an elegant look. This platter is first quality in excellent condition with no defects.
