Antique German Bisque Wall Plaque of Queen Louise
This bisque porcelain figural wall plaque was produced in Germany or Bohemia in the late 19th century. It is not marked but is similar to porcelain produced by Volksetdt or Sitzendorf. It measures 13 inches long and 10 inches across. The plaque depicts a beautiful woman with a child in her arms. The woman is Queen Louise of Prussia from the 18th century. She is holding one of her 14 children. It is modeled with splendid detail and is hand painted. The border that frames it is rococo in style. Condition: There is some ornament that is missing near the bottom tip of the plaque. You can hardly tell that there had been anything there
