This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in France at the Sevres Factory in 1876. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The cup is can shaped. It probably was used for tea or coffee. The porcelain is fine quality hard paste. The set has a light lemon yellow ground color. There are panels of exquisitely hand painted flowers alternating with panels of intricate gilding. The rims and handle are gilded. Condition: There is a circle of gilding where the cup sits on the saucer that is worn. There are no other defects. You cannot see this flaw when the cup is in place.
