This pair of porcelain plates was produced in France by Haviland Limoges in 1905. The two marks indicate this period. They measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The molded border has a crimped edge creating a pattern around the rim. The 1 5/8 inch cobalt blue border is ornately gilded. It is hand painted by the Haviland artist S. Armand. The scenes depict beautiful young women in garden landscapes. The expert artistry is evident in each minute detail. These were rare and expensive plates even for the time they were produced. The foot rings on the backs of the plates are gilded.
