This porcelain chocolate pot was produced in France by Lanternier Limoges in the 1890s. The pot is 8 1/2 inches tall including the lid. The pot features a rococo style handle. The shape of the pot is graceful and flowing, being wide at the top and narrowing toward the bottom. There are melon shaped ribs molded into the body. It is decorated with a factory transfer that is painted over by hand. Pastel colored poppies trail across the pot with winding vines of raised gold leaves accenting them. The design is inspired by the art nouveau fashion. Heavy gold covers the handle and trims the rims.
Condition: There is just a tiny spot of wear to the gold on the finial of the lid and a tiny spot on the handle. The pot is otherwise in excellent condition.
