Victorian Blown Spatter Glass Basket
We believe this glass basket was produced in the United States in the late 19th century. We are not certain of the manufacturer but it may have been made in New England. It is 8 inches high and has a diameter of 4 5/8 inches. The glass has a lead content and rings. It has a spattered color pattern of white and maroon on a smoke colored ground. The glass was pressed on the inside to create texture of leaves and ornamentation. After the shape was formed it was cut away to make the handle. At the top of the handle is a little applied rosette. There is gilded trim on the rims. We found this piece in New England so you could say it didn’t travel very far in its life. Condition: Excellent
