This porcelain 3 piece coffee set consisting of a pot with lid, cream pitcher, and sugar bowl with lid, was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1860s. The pot measures 10 inches high at the handle and 7 1/4 inches from spout to handle. The cream pitcher is
6 inches high at the handle and 4 inches from spout to handle. The sugar bowl is 4 1/4 inches high and 4 inches in diameter. The set has a deep, rich cobalt blue ground with a mirror finish. The pot features a serpent handle and spout. The cream pitcher also has a figural handle. The pot is decorated with clematis vines and flowers painted with shades of platinum and gold. The other pieces are painted similarly with other types of flowers and an occasional butterfly. The set is accented with wide bands of bright gilding and trim. This is an extraordinary set of the highest quality.
