This set of 6 porcelain oyster plates was produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges in the 1870s. They were made especially for the retailer Brodhead & Hamlin of Syracuse, New York. The plates measure 8 3/4 inches in diameter. They have 6 wells for shells and a center space for salt. They come in two colors, beige and light green. They are decorated with a factory transfer that is colored by hand. Various types of sea life such as jelly fish, anemones, sea ferns and other little creatures float across the surface. They are interesting to look at and are highly decorative. Condition: Excellent
