This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons in the 1890s or earlier. It was made especially for the fine retailer Gilman & Collimore of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The interior of the cup and the well of the saucer are soft pink. The outside of the cup and border of the saucer are hand painted with two-colored gold and silver. There are branches, foliage and flowers that flow across the surface of each piece, reminiscent of the Japanese influence. All of the decoration is done in raised paste. There is also fine beaded gold trim and other gold accents.
Condition: There is a shallow 1/4 inch scratch in the pink ground on the saucer. There are no other flaws. The set is in good condition.
