For the set of 12
This set of 12 crystal plates was produced in England by Webb around 1900. They are not signed but this is a known pattern Webb used. They measure 9 inches in diameter. The crystal is hand blown and quite substantial in weight. There is an indentation 1 3/4 inches from the rim to capture dressing from over flowing on the table. The entire surface of each plate is deeply hand engraved with an ornate pattern. Forms of plants and foliage, pinecones and flowers, and winding branches are skillfully executed in glass. Workmanship such as this is a lost art. How wonderful it is that the set has survived.
Condition: There are minor, shallow scratches on the bottom of some of the plates. Considering their age and the fact that they were used, it is to be expected. There are no chips or repairs.
