This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Donath Dresden before 1890. The saucer has a diameter of 6 inches and the cup is 3 inches high. The cup has a graceful pedestal base and the saucer is contoured to sweep up in the middle to meet the cup. The set has a powder blue ground. Both blue and white areas are overlaid with intricate enamel painting and gilding. There are garlands of tiny enameled flowers encircling the well of the saucer and the underside of the cup. Rich gilding accents the center of the saucer and foot of the cup. The inside of the cup is lined with a mirror finish. The handle is coated with gold as well.
Condition: There are some losses to the enamel beading but with such intricate decoration they are not terribly noticeable.
