This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Donath Dresden decorating studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 7/8 inches and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent porcelain. The cup has a scalloped foot and flares at the rim. It has a blown out shape. The saucer has a scalloped rim. It is decorated in ornate Meissen style. Delicate little hand painted flowers are scattered across the porcelain. Intricate gilding with raised beads blend beautifully with the floral decoration. There is lacy gold trim just inside the rim of the cup and the handle is coated in gold. This delicate cup and saucer is reminiscent of the Victorian era.
