This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Doulton around 1900. It was a special order for the department store, J. E. Caldwell & Co., of Philadelphia. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. It is made of fine, white bone china. The name of the garden is “Ammerdown” of Somerset. The scenes are hand painted with vibrant colors. It is signed by the artist, J. Price. A band of embossed gilding frames both pieces. Enjoy drinking your demitasse with happy thoughts of summer.
