For the set of 12
This set of 12 porcelain dinner plates was produced in France by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges around 1900. They were made exclusively for the fine retailer Richard Briggs & Co. of Boston. The plates measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The plates are decorated with elaborate raised gilding. Cartouches containing vividly hand painted sprays of flowers decorate the borders. Embossed bands of gold trim the outer rim and the interior of the plates. The bright colors of the flowers and the bright gilding are outstanding on the pure white porcelain. The foot ring on the backs of these plates is painted with gold. This quality workmanship and beauty of design exemplify an era of elegance you will enjoy.
