This demitasse cup and saucer was produced in the U.S. by Ott and Brewer Belleek in the 1880s. The saucer measures 4 1/4 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is extremely thin and translucent. The cup features a ring handle and a little pedestal foot. It is hand enameled, from the factory, with tiny blue flowers and foliage. There is gold trim on both pieces. Ott and Brewer was in production in the United States from 1863 to1893 so there was relatively a short span of manufacturing. They were especially remembered as a maker of American Belleek in the 1880’s. The fragility of their line, plus short period of production, makes it difficult to acquire examples of this fine work. This delightful little demitasse is in excellent condition.
